You can't do without nature. We have been living sustainability since 1973. As pioneers in environmental and nature conservation, we at the Organic and Seminar Hotel Pointner showed early on that you can combine holidays and responsibility in a wonderful way. For us, this means living with the region instead of against it, consciously relaxing, being happy without meat with vegetarian wholefood cuisine and taking responsibility for what we do here. We don't just talk about it, we've been living it for decades.

From green electricity, solar panels and pellet heating to regional food and waste avoidance: each of our measures is a step towards a green future.

We leave nothing lying around
Because we do not use ready-made or semi-finished products, we produce hardly any packaging waste. Dairy products come in returnable bottles and fruit is grown in our own garden. In the end, almost only what is biodegradable remains and the rest is carefully separated. This means that our guests not only know where something comes from, but also where it goes.
We live in a resource-conserving way
Since 2002, we have only used green electricity from the power socket, two solar panels on the roof diligently collect the sun's rays and our pellet heating system provides cozy warmth. We clean with environmentally friendly cleaning agents. And yes, we also save on water consumption with tap filters.
We act fairly
We have been an official Fairtrade partner for years and focus on products that are not only certified organic, but also enable people to live a better life. Whether it's coffee, tea, chocolate or bananas - what's on our table ensures fair wages, better working conditions and more environmental protection in developing countries.

We love our agriculture

Our suckler cows and sheep are an integral part of our cultural landscape. We don't eat them, but we spoil them daily with fresh grass and hay. On our farm with 4 hectares of meadows, we cultivate everything strictly according to the guidelines of organic-biological farming and work completely without chemicals and additives.

Roots of our philosophy

Good, healthy food is our philosophy of life. It sounds big, but it's really quite simple: we pick what grows in our garden - from apples, plums, pears and sour cherries for our jams to sage and marigolds for our tea. Everything we don't grow ourselves, we get from organic producers in the region. We have been serving organic vegetarian cuisine of the highest organic quality for years. And as a holder of the "Grüne Haube", which is controlled by the Austria Bio Garantie, we make sure that only the best ends up on your plate.

Certified out of conviction

Our awards are not a green label that we stick on ourselves, but the result of genuine conviction. And yes, we often go above and beyond what is required. We have proudly carried the European Ecolabel (EU Ecolabel - AT/051/050) since 2003 and the Austrian Ecolabel since 1998 (both recently confirmed in 2020). And the "Grüne Haube" has adorned our kitchen for over 30 years.
